Brian Karadashian wrote his first novel, A Flag in the Window (Dog Ear Publishing, 2012), which was selected as a finalist in the published children’s fiction and picture book category for the 2013 San Diego Book Awards. The children’s historical novel follows Billy Roarke, a 12-year-old boy living in Pasadena who yearns for his father, a paratrooper stationed in England during World War II. Karadashian taught elementary school for the Poway Unified School District in San Diego, and has published articles in the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner and the Dallas Times Herald. He lives in Escondido, CA with his wife Marcia, and has two grown stepchildren.
